I have to say I'm not a fan of sharing comments from the FP as new posts here. Especially if it is your own post. Kind of smacks of saying "look how clever I am". It just me and my opinion. Not calling anyone out, but it has been bugging me for a while....now I feel better.

As someone who, about 4 times a year, really toots my own horn, I like the ability. Also, as Hardigree did with J. Walter Weatherman's post yesterday, it featured the appropriate counterpoint on the front page very succinctly.

Agreed, unless one is sharing somthing actually hilarious from another person. Not their own post.

Generally speaking it's probably always better if someone else shares your post, but I agree it's a little annoying when people are simply trying to pat themselves on the back. But on a site with this much commenting volume, sometimes things do need to be brought to the forefront, but I share your hope that it's a feature used responsibly.
